London Design Fest 2025 -Emerging Artist Exhibition
September 4, 2025 | Cheeky Launchpad | London, UK
I'm honored to be showing two works with Cheeky Launchpad as part of this year’s London Design Festival. Both pieces explore themes central to my practice: domesticity, longing, and the quietly complicated ways women navigate identity and performance.
The first piece, Captivity, is a self-portrait staged in curlers and a nightgown—equal parts fiction and reflection. Standing alone in dim light, the figure gazes out from a domestic space that may be either sanctuary or cage. The image doesn’t decide. It asks instead: what do we trade for safety? What parts of ourselves become suspended, softened, or erased in the pursuit of comfort?
The second, This Is 28, is an installation about longing, contradiction, and the overwhelm of possibility. At its center sits a reupholstered pink faux-fur chair — a stand-in for my body — surrounded by sheer curtains stenciled with a transcribed monologue I once recorded alone in my apartment. I spoke into my phone about everything I wanted at once: love and freedom, a baby and a Negroni. When I shared it online, millions of strangers recognized themselves in it. This piece brings that moment into physical space: soft, exposed, and held in tension.
Both works are portraits of women caught between roles and desires, not lost, but vividly alive in the in-between.
Select prints from Captivity will be available by request.
